Budget Vets was first established over 10 years ago in a small building in the heart of Newport as a vaccination only clinic offering vaccinations to pets and clients at a low cost. As time passed the demand for first opinion consultations and preventative healthcare was key in helping us to develop and drive the practice forward. We now boast 6 branches across the South Wales region offering first opinion consultations, preventative healthcare such as neutering and parasite control, orthopaedics and medicine referrals, dedicated exotic clinic with a certificate holder in exotic medicine having a great and loyal client base! Our passion is to offer excellent standards of care at a competitive price, we bring joy to the pets and clients we can help whilst providing affordable veterinary care for all! Our focus is to care for the pets and offer an outstanding service to our clients.
Our practices are fully equipped with all the latest gadgets you could need to offer an excellent first opinion service including state of the art ultrasonography, digital radiography, capnography, ECG, tonometer and much more! We value our teams and have two excellent Clinical Directors who are always on hand to help you through a challenging case or a busy day offering clinical guidance and support every step of the way. We took over some basic branch surgeries which we are transforming into highly spec clinics as part of our renovations project in all sites, we believe in providing the right environment for the pets in our care as well as providing some quiet valuable down time for the team to enjoy a break.
We are looking for a confident energetic character that will bring culture and value to our team! You will ideally need to bring at least one years’ experience in general practice, confident in routine surgery and first opinion medicine. We need someone who will bring laughter, care and loyalty to our work family and be someone that will understand our values and ethics, understanding clients and helping them do the right thing for their pet.
We have clinical guidelines; however, these are not set rules and flexibility is key. Clinical decisions are made by you with the support of excellent vets and qualified nurses. You are looking to work 40 hours per week over 4 days which will help you to have that little more time to yourself and enjoy being you! You will be willing to work 1:4 Saturdays which are shorter days and consultation only to bring a great balance of medicine/surgery.
